Channel on Jalan Kemuning Being Revitalized from Flooding

Eight personnel from the Ciracas Sub-district Water Resources Implementation Unit (SDA), East Jakarta, are seen revitalizing a 95-meter-long water channel on Jalan Kemuning, RT 07/05, Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village.

The existing channel condition is inadequate

"The existing channel condition is inadequate. The small channels can't handle high water flow and often trigger floods," expressed Ciracas Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Yulia Indah, Wednesday (10/22).

She explained, the work has been carried out manually since October 13, 2025, and is targeted to be completed within 30 days.

According to her, the channel revitalization was done using a U-ditch measuring 40x40 centimeters to replace the old channel, which only used a pipe with a diameter of 25 centimeters.

"The work progress has touches 30 percent so far," she explained.

One of the residents, Syahrul (48), explained that during heavy rain, flooding often occurs due to insufficient capacity of the channel system.

"Thank you and appreciation to the field workers. Through this channel revitalization, flooding will no longer occur during the rainy season," he closed.
